Research field: Processing of proteomics data: development of tools and procedures for network models
Danila Vella graduated in Biomedical Engineering in 2011 and received her Master Degree in Bioengineering of Cells and Tissues at University of Pavia in 2013. During the academic program she developed a scientific background in informatics, mathematics, chemical and biological fields. Since June 2013 she is a researcher in the Proteomic and Metabolomic Unit of the Institute of Biomedical Technologies of the National Research Council (ITB-CNR) in Milan, Italy. Her research activity mainly focused on application and development of mathematical-informatics algorithms and tools to extract information from data sets obtained from proteomics analysis performed by MudPIT approach. Since November 2014 she is enrolled in PhD course Informatics at University of Milano-Bicocca, focusing her doctorate program on Network Theory applications and development of System Biology approaches to analyse complex biological data, with particular interest to protein-protein interaction networks at both biological and topological level.
