The PhD school is one of the network-wide events of the MSCA-RISE Project PANGAIA (Pan-genome Graph Algorithms and Data Integration) that is a European effort for guiding the transition from linear genomes to graph-based representations.
The focus of the school is on evolutionary aspects of pangenomics and will have 5 speakers, most of them from the US: Evan Eichler (U. Washington), Dan Gusfield (UC Davis), Iman Hajirasouliha (Weill Cornell Medicine), Layla Oesper (Carleton College), Manuela Sironi (IRCCS Eugenio Medea).
The school directors are Paola Bonizzoni (Univ. Milano-Bicocca, Italy), Gianluca Della Vedova (Univ. Milano-Bicocca, Italy), Alexander Schönhuth (Univ. Bielefeld, Germany).
