Emerging Technologies and Surveillance: A Reflection Through Cinema.

Proposed by the interdisciplinary TecSEDU laboratory – Emerging Technologies, Society, Ethics, and Human Rights – which includes Prof. Francesca Gasparini and Dr. Aurora Saibene, this Bbetween course aims to explore the role of emerging technologies in the context of surveillance, highlighting the implications they may have on individuals and society.

Excluding the introductory meeting, the proposed goal will be pursued by watching and discussing three films:

·        “Orwell 1984”, Michael Radford, 1985
·        “The Great Hack - Privacy violata”, Karim Amer e Jehane Noujaim, 2019
·        “Minority Report”, Steven Spielberg, 2002

with the participation and support of outstanding speakers from various Italian institutions: Elena di Carpegna Brivio, Gabriele Della Morte, Alessandra Pierucci, Silvia Salardi, Francesco Cajani, Marco Balduzzi, Manuel Vimercati, Andrea Rossetti, Francesco Stocchi, Claudio Ferretti, and Marta Sosa Navarro.
