The Italian chapter of the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science (EATCS) has awarded Davide Cozzi the prize for the best master thesis in Theoretical Computer Science in 2023. The award ceremony took place on September 15, 2023, and the prize was presented by Professor Angelo Montanari during the 24th edition of the Italian Conference on Theoretical Computer Science (ICTCS), held at the University of Palermo.
Dr. Cozzi defended a thesis titled "Algorithms for the Positional Burrows-Wheeler Transform with Run-Length Compression" (advisor: Professor Raffaella Rizzi) at the conclusion of our Master's Degree Program in Computer Science in the academic year 2022/2023. Currently, Dr. Cozzi is a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science (XXXVIII cycle) at our university (https://phd-computer-science.disco.unimib.it/).
