From October 17 to 19, 2025, the food recognition system "VisionMeal – Artificial Intelligence for the smart management of canteens" will be presented at Maker Faire Rome. It was developed within the Department by Simone Bianco, Marco Buzzelli, Gianluigi Ciocca, Davide Marelli, Flavio Piccoli, and Raimondo Schettini.
Maker Faire is an international event that serves as a reference platform for technological innovation and the dissemination of scientific culture, aimed at creating new opportunities for collaboration with industrial and institutional partners.
Participation in Maker Faire takes place within the OnFoods project, together with other project units, and the initiative for participation with VisionMeal comes from Flavio Piccoli and Marco Buzzelli, RTDa researchers on the OnFoods project.
