MIP Award to Prof. Leonardo Mariani

Prof. Leonardo Mariani received the prestigious Most Influential Paper for Scientific Impact award given by the International Conference on Software Testing, Verification, and Validation 2023 (https://conf.researchr.org/track/icst-2023/icst-2023-mips) for the paper that appeared in the 2013 edition of the same conference that generated the greatest scientific impact.

The paper "CrowdOracles: Can the Crowd Solve the Oracle Problem?" studied how to employ crowdsourcing to address the problem of automatic oracle generation in self-generated tests.

The work was done in collaboration with Prof. Fabrizio Pastore (University of Luxembourg) and Prof. Gordon Fraser (University of Passau).

This year the authors of the work will speak at the conference presenting their reflections on how the work has influenced research over the past 10 years.
