Description: Best4food is a multidisciplinary centre dedicated to food research and innovation actions. It aims to identify the most suitable strategy to develop sustainable food systems able to support our future and the one of the next generations. It should be considered that the food choices that we make everyday, the decision to eat a certain food rather than another, have profound consequences on our health and well-being and also on that of the environment where we live. Therefore, food and nutrition strategies and policy have an impact on the promotion and enhancement of biodiversity and environmental resources.
All phases of the food lifecycle are nowadays strongly related to the new possibilities offered by ICT. Analysis of biological data, Internet of things applied to all food value chain, Mobile applications related to food advertising and selection are only examples of the potential use of ICT. The scientific innovation offered by such technologies may contribute to the sustainability of the food production line, the improvement of food consumption new and better food experience by consumers.
DISCO researchers are dedicated to design and development of algorithms, tools, platforms and services for improving the management of data (genomic, textual and visual) related food along all food value chain with special attention to end consumer. Our services are management of food data, video and image recognition, develop of end user apps.

Description: The BiPAC gathers the great wealth of skills and experiences present in Bicocca in the field of research, study and   dissemination related to Cultural Heritage. In this wide frame,  scholars of heterogeneous disciplines have the opportunity to collaborate on common projects by putting in place approaches and   methodologies very different from each other. The Centre, in fact, involves sectors ranging from the areas of chemical, physical and natural sciences to social, psychological and education, as well as the areas of economics and law, computer science and communication.
By contributing to the implementation of the Third Mission of the University and the University Social Responsibility, BiPAC promotes public engagement programs and is involved in the organization and promotion of cultural and educational activities outside the university context. As a real "hub", the Center aims to expand the dissemination of research on Cultural Heritage and give them the  maximum evidence.

Other departments of the University members: Department of Economics, Management and Statistics, Department of Business and Law, Department of Statistics and Quantitative Methods, School of Law, Department of Psychology, Department of Biotechnology and Biosciences, Department of Physics "Giuseppe Occhialini”, Department of Materials Science, Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, "Riccardo Massa" Department of Human Sciences for Education, and Department of Sociology and Social Research

Members of the Department: Stefania Bandini, Simone Bianco, Gianluigi Ciocca, Flavio De Paoli, Matteo Dominoni, Sara Manzoni, Enza Messina, Matteo Palmonari, Gabriella Pasi, Raimondo Schettini, Fabio Stella, Giuseppe Vizzari, Elisabetta Fersini

Description: The mission of the Milan Center for Neuroscience is to promote high-level multidisciplinary research and education in the field of Neuroscience, to uncover mechanisms of nervous system function and dysfunction at different ages.
The effort to accomplish this challenging goal must be based on a multidisciplinary team encompassing basic and clinical neuroscientists, and taking advantage of collaborations with institutions at regional, national and international level.
Expertise spans from genetics, molecular biology, cell-, tissue- and in vivo-neuroimaging, psychology, neurology, neuropsychology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, child neuropsychiatry, computational technologies, informatics, statistics, system biology, economy, physics with the use of a large variety of technological platforms.
A major goal of the Center is to promote high level and interdisciplinary education in the field of Neuroscience. To accomplish this goal the Center will connect existing PhD Programs related to this field and belonging to the Doctorate School of the University, to favour trans-doctorate research and educational activities.
Interested PhD students may be active participants of the research activities and of the Scientific Council of the Center.
